Cultivating the full potential of each individual through the pursuit of academic, spiritual, and personal excellence.
Greetings Xavier Parents! As we continue our preparations for the new school year, we wanted to provide information to our families in regards to our plans for COVID mitigation and prevention. We were blessed last year to be able to have in-person instruction for the duration of the school year and we pray we are able to do so again this year. The handout (COVID Mitigation Plan 2021-22) below provides information on the steps related to COVID to begin the year, and the steps you should take in the event there is illness in your family.
Father Quint, our pastoral coordinator, reminds us of the following:
1. Through the gift of faith we trust in the power of God's grace and the love of God for all of His dear children.
2. As a Catholic school, we undertake the ministry of formation of young people in communion with the Catholic Church, especially the Archdiocese of Dubuque and local parishes.
3. As institutions within the United States of America, the State of Iowa, the County of Dubuque, and the City of Dyersville, we have responsibilities of adherence to governing bodies.
4. As accredited schools, we are obliged to adhere to directives from the Iowa Department of Education.
PATIENCE is a VIRTUE and we are grateful to work as collaborators in the exciting endeavor of forming our young people.
As you read through the mitigation and prevention plan, please keep these guiding principles in mind and as Father stated, we will again need patience and understanding as this continues to be a fluid situation where additional changes may need to occur with our plans. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. Please continue to pray for an end to this pandemic as well as for a safe and successful school year.
Sincerely,
Peter Smith
