Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future STO
P.O Box 479
Dubuque, Iowa 52004-0479

Guidelines established for the Our Faith,
Our Children, Our Future STO

• An Iowa tax credit in the amount of 65% of the cash donation may
be taken by the donor for the tax year in which the gift is received.

• This STO can give tax credit certificates equal to $920,704 for 2006.
This figure is based upon the total student enrollment of the Our
Faith, Our Children, Our Future STO.

• Those families whose adjusted gross income falls below
300% of the poverty level, and meet all local admissions requirements,
qualify for assistance through this program (see below).

• By Iowa law, at least 90% of all gifts received must go to eligible
families in the form of tuition assistance for the 2007-2008 school
year. This program cannot use any STO donations to build endowment.

• As outlined above, it is possible for a donor to restrict 50% of their gift
to a school(s) or system(s) represented by the Our Faith, Our
Children, Our Future STO. It is important to note, however, that
once the identified needs of the families attending the designated
school(s) or system(s) have been met, as determined by an outside agency
in charge of reviewing all grant applications, any unused
restricted donations will be distributed to other needy families at other
Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future STO schools where the
local need has not been met. For example, if there are restricted
gifts totaling $100,000 to School A, and the families who need
scholarships at School A have identified needs totaling $75,000,
the unused $25,000 of restricted gifts must be made available to
other eligible families in the STO schools that need support.

• This STO will offer tuition assistance to families based upon
their identified need and the amount of money available
in the program, as determined by an outside agency. Additional assistance
from the school will be added to the total package of assistance, based
upon local criteria.
